Cristina P. Cambo

Cristina P. Cambo is a Partner and Founding Member at Cambo Ferry, PLLC. She has focused her career in the areas of first party property coverage and defense for residential and commercial carriers. She assists and defends property insurers in coverage disputes and litigation, including pre-suit investigations, SIU investigations, alternative dispute resolution, and all aspects of litigation through trial. She also assists her clients with third party liability coverage opinions and evaluations. In addition to her litigation practice, Ms. Cambo acts as a general advisor on a wide range of strategic business and legal issues for her clients.

Ms. Cambo has been called upon several times to offer testimony and draft model bill language to the Florida Legislature during Florida’s Special Sessions on property insurance reform. She has also served on a panel of legal experts to testify before the Federal Advisory Committee on Evidence Rules concerning proposed Federal Rule of Evidence 707. Ms. Cambo is also regularly asked to be a guest speaker for various conferences, seminars, podcasts, and webinars.

Ms. Cambo is actively involved in both state and national professional associations. On a statewide level, she serves on the Board of Directors for the Florida Defense Lawyers Association (“FDLA”), and she was the recipient of the 2024 President’s Award. Ms. Cambo serves as the Co-Chair of the First Party Property Insurance Committee for FDLA, as well as the liaison for the Diversity Equity & Inclusion Committee. Ms. Cambo was the Chair of the 2024 Florida Insurance Network Symposium (“FINS”) Conference hosted by the FDLA, and she was the Vice Chair of FINS in 2023.

On a national level, Ms. Cambo is an active member of DRI, which is the largest international membership organization of attorneys defending the interests of businesses and individuals in civil litigation. Specifically, she was selected by DRI’s Center for Law and Public Policy as the Florida representative of the State Legislation and Rules Task Force. She is also an appointed member of the Federal Rules Task Force for DRI’s Center for Law and Public Policy.

In terms of community involvement, Ms. Cambo served on the Executive Committee for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Annual Light the Night Event.

Ms. Cambo graduated with Honors from Wake Forest University in 2006, majoring in History and double minoring in Anthropology and International Studies. She earned her juris doctor degree from Stetson University College of Law in 2011 as a half-tuition scholarship recipient, where she was a member of the Moot Court Board and the Phi Delta Phi Honor Society. While on the Moot Court Board, Ms. Cambo was awarded Best Claimant’s Brief at the 2011 Willem C. Vis (East – Hong Kong) Moot and Honorable Mention for Best Respondent’s Brief in the same competition. She also earned Book Awards in Trial Advocacy (Victor O. Wehle Award) and Comparative Corporate Governance.

Ms. Cambo is licensed to practice in all Florida State Courts, as well as the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Southern, and Middle Districts of Florida. Ms. Cambo is bilingual in Spanish and is a dual citizen of the United States and Spain. She lives in Maitland, Florida with her family.
