Erick Rodriguez
Erick R. Rodriguez is a Senior Associate in Cambo Ferry, PLLC’s Miami office, where he focuses on first-party property insurance defense, third-party liability defense, and complex litigation.With extensive experience in insurance coverage disputes, Mr. Rodriguez represents insurers in claims involving windstorm, water, hurricane, fire, mold, and theft, including cases
involving suspected fraud. He manages all phases of litigation, from pre-suit investigations and examinations under oath to trial advocacy.
Beyond insurance litigation, Mr. Rodriguez has a diverse legal background, having litigated premises liability and general negligence cases, including trucking accidents, shootings, mining accidents, dog bites, exotic car theft, negligent security, fires, flooding, yacht explosions, slip and falls, trip and falls, property maintenance, animal attacks, vandalism, and ADA compliance
matters. His litigation experience also includes construction defect, contractual subrogation, and equine law matters.
Mr. Rodriguez regularly defends clients against fraudulent claims in both first-party and third-party contexts, using a strategic and aggressive approach to minimize risk and exposure. His goal is to offer clients a low-cost, high-quality representation that will yield results clients can rely on for their toughest cases.
Additionally, Mr. Rodriguez has experience handling employment law cases, including wrongful termination, retaliation, sexual harassment, and overtime compensation claims. He has also updated clients’ Terms and Conditions, Website Policies, employment contracts, non-compete agreements, and acquisition agreements, as well as advised clients on causes of action against terminated employees. He has further provided counsel on international data regulatory changes, property disputes, and business disputes.
As a dedicated member of the defense bar, Mr. Rodriguez is actively involved in legal organizations such as the Florida Defense Lawyers Association (FDLA) and DRI. His work extends beyond litigation, as he frequently analyzes industry trends and regulatory developments to update his clients on changes that impact insurers and businesses.
Mr. Rodriguez earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Miami School of Law in 2019 and was admitted to the Florida Bar in April 2020. He also holds two Bachelor’s Degrees from the University of Central Florida’s Burnett Honors College, where he was awarded the Francis Bok Human Trafficking Research Fellowship by the Office of Global Perspectives for his work in international human rights and anti-trafficking research.
Mr. Rodriguez is licensed to practice in all Florida state courts and the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida.
Outside of his legal practice, Mr. Rodriguez has a strong interest in technology, changes in the legal landscape, government, insurance, global politics, health, and athletics. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and children. He also has a passion for community service and engagement when his work and family commitments permit him to indulge in that endeavor.
